On the afternoon ofApril 19th, the delegation from Singapore universities visited Guizhou University.The two sides held a meeting, attendees including Ang Lay Kee, Vice Presidentof Singapore University of Technology and Design, Kong Lijuan, Director ofChina Affairs(International) of Nanyang Technological University, and ZhouShaoqi, Vice President of Guizhou University and representatives from relevantdepartments and colleges of GZU.
Prof. Zhou Shaoqiintroduced the long-term exchange and cooperation between Guizhou Universityand Singapore universities on talent cultivation, scientific researchcooperation, student exchange, and faculty exchange. He made a generalintroduction to the disciplinary construction, enrollment status, undergraduateprogramme, doctoral training, faculty exchange of GZU. He pointed out thatGuizhou University has always adhered to the goal of building a high-leveluniversity with "Chinese characteristics, world level and Guizhou'sneeds". Hoping that the two universities could work together to strengthencooperation and jointly create a model of an all-round cooperation betweenChina and the Singapore, so as to make new contributions to the " DoubleFirst-class" construction of Guizhou University as well as theglobalization strategy of Singapore University of Technology and design andNanyang Technological University.
Prof. Ang Lay Kee briefingall participants about Singapore University of Technology and Design and the developmentstatus of related master's disciplines. He hoped that both sides wouldstrengthen cooperation, jointly cultivate high-quality talents in a bid toimprove the employment rate and education quality.
Prof. Kong Lijuan madean introduction about Nanyang Technological University and hoped to take this visitas an opportunity to promote student exchanges between both sides throughvarious forms, helping both sides make new achievements in improving the levelof international education.
Atthe meeting, participants had in-depth discussions and exchanges on forms ofcooperation, curriculum, talent cultivation, and the follow-up cooperationplans.
