On March 5th, a delegation from Cardiff University headed by Pro Vice-Chancellor Nora de Leeuw, Director for Chinese Affairs Office Jiang Wenguo, and Manager for Chinese Affairs Office Liu Xingfei, visited GZU. A meeting was held by Vice President Zhang Qin in Room 213 of the Dezheng Building, attended by representatives from Office of Teachers Development and Research, Graduate School, Institute of Science and Technology, Office of International Relations, College of Materials and Metallurgy, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, College of Resource and Environment Engineering, College of Medicine, etc.
Zhang extended welcome to all delegates, adding that great achievements have been made since 2013, when bilateral ties were established. Cardiff University is a friendly partner of GZU, with whom productive progress has been achieved and more cooperation is expected to come.
Nora de Leeuw said that this visit was made for detailed discussions about future mode of cooperation. She hoped that the bilateral cooperation would promote the quality of education in a win-win way.
From September 2018 to January 2019, 10 teachers from 6 literal colleges of GZU have achieved a higher education training at Cardiff University for 4 months. Also in this meeting, results of these teachers coming back from Cardiff University were shared by Office of Teachers Development and Research.
