Delegates from British Consulate General in Chongqing, i.e., Deputy Consul-General Stephen Agenw, British Council director Zhou Bing and high-ranking official of Guizhou Affairs Mia Gao, visited Guizhou University in the morning of August 3.
General accountant Xie Tiankai chaired the meeting in No.1 Meeting Room of the 1st Administrative Building on the North Campus. He made a brief introduction of Guizhou University, adding that exchanges and cooperation with European countries, especially UK, are highed valued, with friendly and cooperative ties with Cardiff University, University of Lincoln and Middlesex University, etc. already there. Since negotiations of cooperative school-running and staff training programs with Cardiff University and University of Lincoln are underway, this visit would provide another platform for cooperation between Guizhou University and British universities.
The cooperation between Guizhou University and British universities is quite efficient, and further exchanges beyond traditional cooperative fields would be enhanced over the paltform of Z14 Consortium program, said Stephen Agnew.
Besides, cooperative programs of Z14 Consortium Project, training program on non-English speaking teachers, matters of China-Asean Educational Cooperation Week were also touched on.
The delegation visited the Academy of Chinese Culture of Guizhou University after the meeting.
