Guizhou University has signed cooperation agreement with Korean Universities, namely Paichai University of Korea, Chonbuk National University, Changwon National University and Myongji University since 2006.
By far, the Paichai Korean Education Centre, jointly established by GZU and Paichai University of Korea, has taught about 150 tourism expertises to learn Korean, which has filled the gap of providing tourist guides in Korean language in Guizhou province. Paichai University of Korea is responsible to assign Korean teachers to the center.
The center has begun to conduct the exchange students program and study in Korea program since 2008. 24 competent students (from College of Humanities, College of Management, College of People’s Armed Forces, College of Science and Technology etc.) of GZU were sent to Chonbuk, Paichai etc. for one-year study. Some students’ excellent performance received high praise from the Korean universities. They adapted to the local environment quickly and were admitted as graduate students. Six students were recommended to have graduate study majoring in International Trade in Chonbuk and three of them have been granted scholarships for their excellent academic performance.
19 students are to be chosen from colleges of GZU to study in the above mentioned four Korean universities in 2009. The autumn admission plan gives priority to senior students in science and technology field. The qualified students, after 6-month Korean language training, will be fully sponsored by Korean universities to have their graduate study.
Till now, 11 exchange students from universities of Paichai, Chonbuk have been accepted by GZU to study Chinese for one year.
